Delta Demons Pen-Pal Program

Children and their parents can make donations and write notes on special card stock available in the Museum’s Post Office and deliver them to the “soldiers” mailbox at the front desk. The Museum will forward them to the Boynton Beach City Manager’s office, which in turn will send them to the Delta Demons.

The Schoolhouse Children’s Museum wants to remind the community that while our school-aged children may get a break for the summer, the young men and women of our armed forces do not. In an effort to uplift, encourage, and support troop morale, the Museum is providing its patrons the opportunity to send notes and much needed care package items to the City of Boynton Beach’s adopted Company D, 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division Air Assault, a.k.a. Delta Demons.

The Delta Demon pen-pal program coincides with the Blue Star Museum program currently in effect at the Museum. Blue Star Museums run from Memorial Day, May 31 through Labor Day, September 6, 2010 and allows free admission to active duty military and their immediate family members (military ID holder and five immediate family members), which includes active duty Reserve and active duty National Guard. Some special or limited-time museum exhibits may not be included in this free admission program.
So, while we enjoy a break from our studies let’s not forget the sacrifices that continue to be made every day by these courageous men and women.
