VISITOR SERVICES MANAGER
The Visitor Services Manager will supervise the daily operations of the Museum. This part-time position works under the direction of the Executive Director and is responsible for 6 Visitor Services Associates. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
·        Trains, schedules, and supervises all Visitor Services staff and volunteers; lead the daily operations of the Museum's front of house with a focus on customer service, organization, and efficiency ensuring children and their caregivers are attended to professionally and promptly. 
·        Addresses any and all customer-service issues related to the Museum's front of house, birthday parties, and field trips.
·        Ensures all exhibits are in proper working order as well as performs routine disinfecting and straightening of exhibit space throughout the day. 
·        Maintains the Museum's gift shop inventory, merchandising, and ordering.
·        Submits all visitor service members' timesheets to the bookkeeper in a timely and accurate manner.
·        Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: 
·        Bachelor's Degree desirable 
·        Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in the hospitality or retail industry
·        Demonstrated experience/enjoyment working with children and families
·        Computer proficiency (i.e. MS Office)
·        Excellent customer service, administrative, and organizational skills. 

Hours of this position are: Monday - Friday from 9:00 A.M. - 5:30 P.M. Weekend hours may be necessary. This is approximately a 36 hour/week.

Volunteer positions are open to all individuals who meet the qualifications established for each of the following categories:
 
Teaching Aide:
This position requires working with the classroom teacher and children
·        Responsible for assisting educator with programming needs
·        Assisting with classroom set-up
·        Distributing supplies for crafts
·        Working directly with children in classroom
·        Assisting with group visits/school field trips
 
Front Desk:
This position requires working with the front desk staff
·        Keeping retail merchandise organized
·        Answering the telephone
·        Schoolhouse Greeter
·        Assisting front desk staff in check in for classes
 
Floor Support:
This position requires working with the guest services manager
·        Responsible for prop set-up
·        Notifying manager when exhibits are not in working order
·        Assisting with Birthday Party’s
·        Helping to organize closets, storage areas
 
In addition, the Schoolhouse Children’s Museum hosts many special events throughout the year and will always be in need of  additional volunteers to assist in making our events successful.
