Our teen volunteers assist staff in preparing and helping with hands-on activities during classes, help guide school groups, explain exhibits to our visitors, reset display props, and help with Children’s Birthday Parties. The Schoolhouse Teen Volunteer Program offers two ways to volunteer…
Summer Program: Volunteers commit to minimum 1 day (2 shifts) each week from June to August. The Museum will be accepting only 10 Teen Volunteers for the Summer Program.
Birthday Party Program: Volunteers commit to a minimum of 1 day (2 shifts) every month throughout the year, by volunteering on weekends. Minimum 6 month commitment required.
SHIFT TIMES
Summer Program offers two shifts Tuesday – Friday
Morning: 9:30 am – 1:30 pm / Afternoon: 1:30 – 5:30 pm
Birthday Party Program offers two shifts on Saturday and/or Sunday:
Morning: 9:30 am – 1:30 pm / Afternoon: 1:30 – 5:30 pm
HOW TO APPLY:
To apply for the Schoolhouse Squad, please download and fill out the application.
Once completed, mail it, along with two letters of reference from non-family adults
and proof of minimum “C” grade average to:

Upon receipt of this application and related paperwork, you will be contacted for an interview.
Upon acceptance into the program, a local background screening will be processed and Orientation and Training will be scheduled.
A fee of $20.00 is due at Orientation, covering the cost of local background screening, volunteer T-shirt, badge, Orientation and Training Manual.
